About eMeL Pottery
Our Story
The African sunbird represents what eMeL pottery is about... color, joy, energy and enthusiasm! We are a group of enthusiastic artists who create unique handmade products in Saldanha, on the West Coast of South Africa.
Here, in the heart of the West Coast, we make a variety of ceramic products by hand. We use no moulds or wheels only slab, pinch and coil methods, ensuring that each piece is truly unique. The team is led by Marietjie Loots who has taken up pottery in the early 1980’s. Since then she has honed her skills as a creative potter and even took up painting. We come up with fresh ideas regularly and adapt our products accordingly.

At eMeL Pottery, we are committed to supporting local clay and glaze suppliers. We prioritize working with suppliers who share our values of sustainability and ethical production, ensuring that our materials are sourced responsibly and with minimal environmental impact.

We believe in reducing waste and promoting conscious consumption. That's why we offer the flexibility for our customers to buy as much as they need, whether it's a single piece or a complete set. Our customizable orders allow you to create a personalized collection that suits your specific requirements.
Wholesale Terms
Each of our pieces is handmade with care, and no two are exactly alike. The time, skill, and attention that go into creating every item mean we are unable to offer steep discounts. However, we’re happy to extend a 10% discount on orders over R3,000 as a token of appreciation for larger purchases. Thank you for valuing the craftsmanship behind our work.
